# Company Research API

> Turn a domain or company name into firmographics, company phones, headquarters address, funding, technologies, and news.

The Company Research API researches a company and returns its full record: description, industry and SIC/NAICS codes, headcount, revenue, phone numbers with confidence scores, headquarters address, top technologies, funding, and recent news.

## Inputs

Send up to 500 companies per request.

| Input | Use when |
| - | - |
| `searchResultIds` | You found the company with the [Company Search API](/api-catalog/company-search). |
| `companies[].domain` | You have a website domain, for example from a form fill or a CRM account. |
| `companies[].companyName` | You have only a company name. Add `domain` when you have it for a more precise match. |

`skipDeduplicationCheck: true` re-researches companies your org researched recently. This uses credits again.

| Research links | Ready-made URLs for SEC filings, Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, Wikipedia, job postings, employee reviews, SEO and paid search research, web technologies, WHOIS |

`industries`, `phones`, `phoneTypes`, `phonesAiScores`, and `topTechnologies` are comma-separated strings. The values in `phones`, `phoneTypes`, and `phonesAiScores` line up by position. The [Data dictionary](/api-catalog/data-dictionary) lists every field.

> If you send only a `domain` and Seamless has no company for it, the poll returns `status: error` for that request.
